I am an Architect, designer, and photographer based in Bristol, UK. I have always been fascinated by Brutalist architecture. The honesty of the materiality, the carefully crafted details to appear simple and monolithic, as if the architecture sculpted from a single block.
A much maligned style usually because people see it as scruffy due to the poor or often non existent upkeep, I want to show the form and volume of the buildings by abstracting them back to their sculptural form in a bid to show others the beauty in Brutalism.
I set out to create a series of illustrations of some of my favourite brutalist buildings and the brutalist studio was born.
